Hailed by critics as “…a
truly wonderful conductor” and by colleagues as “…an
outstanding musician”; Australian born Anthony Clarke has
developed a reputation as a highly professional, dynamic and charismatic
conductor with the ability to enthuse orchestras and audiences
alike. During his career, he has worked with professional orchestras
in Australia, Italy, Corsica and China.
He is renowned for his abundance of energy and vitality, thoughtful
insights and charismatic nature. Terms and phrases such as “energetic”, “insightful”, “passionate”, “intuitive” and “exquisite phrasing” are often used to describe his performances.
Anthony’s concert schedule includes a diverse range of styles
and audiences, including TV and radio broadcasts. He is well versed
in the standard orchestral repertoire, given world premiers of
contemporary works and has a great passion for authentic performance
techniques.
Anthony is currently Lecturer in Conducting and assistant to Maestro
Imre Pallo at the Conservatorium of Music University of Sydney.
In association with this, Anthony is also completing a Doctorate
degree in conducting.
